The Saddleback Butterfly Fish has a black saddle at the rear of their dorsal fin extending to their caudal fin. It has a large black (saddle) with a white border on the rear upper corner of the body and dorsal fin. Some orange coloration may be found on the lower half of the face and outlining the black tail. The base color is gray with several blue-gray stripes on the lower body. They should should be feed a diet rich in meaty protein items. They are often started on live brine shrimp but should be switched as soon as possible since brine shrimp is nutritionally poor. Their usual diets include mysis shrimp, clams, krill, bloodworms, commercially prepared foods, and plankton. Sensitive to water quality. Level of Care: Moderate-Difficult Diet: Omnivore.
