Names Common Name: Auriga Butterfly Fish Other Names: Threadfin Butterflyfish, Cross-Stripe Butterflyfish Scientific Name: Chaetodon auriga Auriga Butterfly Fish - They have a white body with dark chevron-shaped markings. The rear of the body and caudal peduncle are yellow. There is a dark spot on the soft dorsal fin and a black bar through the eye. Provide with lots of shelter and room to move around. They are grazers that need a meaty diet with plenty of vegetable matter. Sensitive to water quality. Level of Care: Easy Diet: Omnivore. Include marine fish, crustacean flesh, mysid shrimp and frozen preparations.
