Tesselata Eel

One of the most exciting colored morays is the Tessellated or Honeycomb Moray. More commonly known as the Tesselata Eel, this is one stunning creature.  Its features has a beautiful black and white patterned body that resembles spaced out lacework.

Caution should be exercised when keeping this fish with other tank mates including other eels. It should be taken when working in the aquarium as they are aggressive and will bite.

Tesselata Eel tanks should have a thick sandy substrate and plenty of live rock and no sessile inverts or corals. Feed a varied diet consisting of large chunks of meaty foods. These foods include krill, raw table shrimp, squid, clam and mussel.
